Cherie Kassinger

 

Cherie Kassinger has been part of the Boerne/Fair Oaks community since 1999. She retired from the government where she served in a variety of assignments, most recently as a trainer in organizational and interpersonal skills. She has a B.A. in Management from National Louis University. Cherie changed her lifestyle from working for the government to working with programs close to her heart, including serving on the board of and being an instructor in the Christian Women’s Job Corps. Cherie has been married to Jack Kassinger for 33 years and has two adult children – one of whom resides and owns a business in Kendall County.   Cherie attends First Baptist Church Boerne.

Emily Swope

 

Emily gave her time, talent, and financial resources to help start CWJC and develop it into “the program” for women in need in the greater Kendall County area. She has been involved in community service since the day she arrived in Boerne in 1979. Besides CWJC, Emily has led various boards including the Chamber of Commerce, Noon Rotary Club, Republican Women’s Club, Boerne Area Community Center, and Montessori School, and still supports numerous other community organizations. Emily is married to Perry Edmonson and they are members of Eagle’s Nest Christian Fellowship, San Antonio. Serving God, the needs of her family, and this community are paramount in Emily’s quest to fulfill the purpose God has for her.

Pastor Mike Harkrider

 

Mike Harkrider currently serves as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Boerne, Texas and has since 2005. Mike enjoys working with people and being involved in the community to help people experience the Living Christ in daily life. Mike has been a church staff pastor for 28 years in a number of churches all across Texas. He currently serves in the Ministerial Alliance in Boerne and is the alliance representative for CWJC and CMJC. He also serves as a spiritual director in the Emmaus community in Boerne. He is also a committee member of the Hill Country Baptist Association. Mike is also a 4 year member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas. He and His wife Pat of 27 years have two daughters, Lindsey is a Senior Elementary Education major at UMHB, and Katie is a Sophomore Elementary education major at UMHB.

Lorraine Broglie

 

Lorraine is office manager for Coldwell Banker Swope Realty and has been a co-owner of a small business, legal secretary/assistant, and Office Manager of a large business.  She has a heart for women in need and for doing the Lord's work.  Lorraine has extensive experience as a community volunteer and was most recently the Volunteer Coordinator for the 180 Teen Center, Boerne.   She is married to Bruce Broglie and they currently attend Watermark Church, Boerne.

Diane Williams

 

Diane is committed to serving others through the strength and empowerment of our Lord Jesus Christ.  She's lived in boerne for 22 years raising her children and acquiring employment skills.  Diane is a trained and certified lay counselor who has worked over 16 years with women in need.  She has experience in distribution and retail management, has owned and operated her own business, and has co-led women's Bible studies.  Diane has been anointed by the Lord with a heart for women in need.  She is a member of First Baptist Church Boerne.  As Site Coordinator, Diane is a non-voting member of the Board of Directors.   


Programs Administrative Assistant

Anne Grozier

 

Anne Grozier has been associated with CWJC as Administrative Assistant to the Site Coordinator since day one of the first session. She has a master’s degree in religious education and, in addition to being a pastor’s wife, has served as director of religious education in churches in Nebraska, Hawaii, Austin Texas, and Maryland. More recently, she worked as pastor’s secretary, financial secretary, and administrative assistant. Her spiritual gifts are administration and helps and she was extremely excited when she learned that CWJC needed someone to work behind the scenes in the office. Anne says, “I thank the Lord that He led me to work with this wonderful organization where women help women. There is nothing I would rather be doing!”  Anne is a member of First Baptist Church Boerne.

Carolyn Brown

 

Carolyn has always had a compassion for working with individuals and helping them become all that God intended them to be.
Carolyn currently works in the Corporate world as a REALTOR and says "Working with families in this capacity is very rewarding." However, she believes being part of the CWJC brings her closer to the personal lives of women and their families. Her years of experience in Lay Counseling in addition to her own struggles and accomplishment are proof that "Nothing is impossible for those who trust in the Lord"... Carolyn brings over 10 years experience as Executive Director of the Hill Country Pregnancy Care Center to the board.  She and her husband Red Brown are members of First Baptist Church Boerne.

Scott Lowry

 

Scott Lowry became interested in CWJC when he and his Emmaus Reunion Group provided lunch for the women in the last two classes. He sees the great accomplishments and blessings the organization provides the women and the community, which led him to be part of it. He has resided in Boerne since 1981 and his wife, Debbie, and he are owners of Dependable Insurance Agency. Currently he serves as Secretary of the City of Boerne’s Board of Adjustments as well as a Board Member of the Boerne Emmaus Community. He is also an USTA Certified Official. Debbie and Scott have two sons currently in college. Scott and Debbie are members of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where he was a past Council member.

Shelli Nabors
 

Shelli Nabors represents the CWJC Alumni on the Board.  She is a fall 2005 graduate of the Job and Life Skills Training Program and was employed at Land Design for over one year.  She is an avid spokeswoman for the powerful and positive changes that happen in a woman's life when she enrolls in the Job and Life Skills Training Program. Shelli is a member of Currey Creek Baptist Church.

Janet Sims

 

Janet Sims has been in the financial services business since 1990 and is a principal of Financial Process Group – Boerne. She holds a BA in Mass Communication from Abilene Christian University.  Janet taught at CWJC and was led to make greater contributions as a board member.  Janet enjoys golf, gardening, and is an active member of St. John Lutheran church where she and her husband Jim sing in the choir. She and Jim have three grown daughters and seven grandchildren.

Mike Bellomy

Mike has a passion for helping people find and fulfill the purposes God has for their lives. He was a founding mentor and is still an active leader in the Career Transition Workshop held at Oak Hills Church since 2002. Mike is an executive coach and Area Chair for C12 Group-San Antonio, an organization of Christian CEOs and business owners pursuing performance God’s Way. He specializes in organizational development and performance coaching. Mike has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. in Management. He, his wife Grace, and their son Daniel, live north of Boerne and are members of First Baptist Church Boerne.

Lynn Heckler

 

The Lord used Lynn as His instrument to begin CWJC of Kendall County in 2004.  She had been praying for an answer on how to reach women who needed life and job skills, and also needed  Jesus Christ.  The Lord brought her in touch with CWJC after 3 months of prayer.  Lynn retired from the Air Force in 1999 and since then, has devoted her life to local Christian ministries.  She is on the Ladies Ministry Council at First Baptist Boerne; is FBC's Care Boerne outreach leader partnering with Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries, and is Chairman of the Boerne Chamber's Workforce Education Committee.  Lynn has a masters in nursing and a bredth of experience in leadership.  She is married to Boerne City Mayor, Dan Heckler.
