All officers and directors have the following obligations and duties:
• Obligations: o Prepares for and attends all meetings as scheduled o Attends Board of Directors training, retreats, or other activities o Attends graduations, celebrations, fundraisers, and other special events o Advocates for women and families o Demonstrates a commitment to the CWJC® of Kendall County o Contributes skills and expertise when needed o Donates financially with a personal commitment o Assumes leadership roles as an officer or committee chairperson o Seeks education about the needs of the women served by CWJC o Networks as an ambassador for CWJC in the greater community o Assists in fulfillment of the CWJC eight key elements: board of directors, Bible study, certified site coordinator, covenants, evaluations, mentors, needs assessments, networking • Duties: o Prays for God’s blessing on CWJC, its participants, employees, and volunteers o Monitors all phases of CWJC o Participates in strategic planning o Approves short and long-term goals o Develops and approves budget o Evaluates Site Coordinator and Board of Directors annually o Approves Site Coordinator salary o Lends guidance to program development and operation o Participates actively in fundraising for CWJC o Makes decisions and assumes responsibility for building, leases, contracts o Writes, evaluates, and revises policies and procedures o Plans, executes, and evaluates publicity o Approves capital purchases o Applies for grants as needed o Helps recruit volunteers, teachers, and mentors
| Meetings: CWJC Board meeting are the first Thursday of each month at 12:00 noon at the CWJC Program office, Faith Hall, St. John Lutheran Church, Boerne. See our calendar for dates. Meetings last between one and two hours. The board does not usually meet in June, July, or August unless otherwise called. | Applicants to the Board: If you have a heart for this type of ministry and can commit to the responsibilities and duties listed above, we encourage you to apply. Interested applicants should email the Board at cwjc@gvtc.com and provide name, address, phone and cell phone number, faith background, name of church membership, list board experience if any, and brief statement of why you are interested in being on the CWJC Board of Directors. A Director will contact you for an interview prior to disseminating information to the Board of Directors. You will receive a response of any decision made regarding your application. |
