The CWJC MENTOR PROGRAM developes mentors to minister to women who enter the Job and Life Skills Training Program.  The purpose of a mentor program is to provide each woman with Love that HEALS, that is -- Love that is UNCONDITIONAL, SACRIFICIAL, REVEALING, & ENCOURAGING.
 
MENTOR OBJECTIVE
To show the mercy and compassion of Jesus Christ through emotional and spiritual support of a mentee.

MENTOR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Personal relationship with Jesus Christ

  • Faithful involvement in a local church

  • Pastor reference

  • Ability to respect confidentiality

  • Dependable, stable, and capable of following through with commitments

  • Ability to communicate with and love the mentee

  • Supportive of the purposes of CWJC

     

MENTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pursue a loving friendship with mentee -- accept her where she's at
  • Provide emotional and spiritual support and encouragement
  • Meet the weekly commitment to visit with or telephone the mentee
  • Alert Site Coordinator or Mentor Coordinator of serious issues that may require further help
  • Be the encourager and cheerleader for the mentee while in the Program and job seeking

 

TIME COMMITMENT

  • Attend one Mentor Training session
  • 6 months commitment to mentee
  • Once/week communication with mentee
  • Meet with mentee at least twice/month
  • Pray for mentee
